Nin comes from a family with a musical background. His dad is renowned tabla player Kuldip Singh Matharu who has taught many of today’s young stars. Nin’s Uncle Ajit Mutlashi (whom he studied harmonium under) is one of the UK’s leading classical teachers, he is unique in the fact that he is blind. This however has not prevented him earning his name in musical circles here & overseas, (he teaches music ranging from the tabla to vocal training). Having come from a family who had such a strong background in music, it was inevitable that he would take up music.

Nin started in the music industry in 1990, playing mandolin & then progressed onto the guitar. During this time he was also lucky to have studied classical harmonium. Joining his first band at the age of 13 playing mandolin, he then progressed on to playing the guitar & was snapped up by one of 1990’s upcoming bands SAQI. He continued with them for several years before being offered a position in PARDESI, joining them whilst they were at their peak. He was lucky to tour the world over & share stages with the likes of Kool & the gang, Lucianno Pavarotti, Khalid, Stevie wonder, Neneh cherry & many more. Being lucky enough to have been exposed to such a variety of music & cultures, producing was a natural progression & passion. This allowed him to let out all the fusions he’d been exposed to & to create his own unique blend/sound of music!

Nin got his first chance to produce several tracks on the Pardesi album – entitled Full Badmashi. It was on that album that he was producer, guitarist & percussionist. He was able to express himself in a style which combined a lot of different flavours, giving the album a new sound. After that the work flooded in, yet he was very cautious, often turning down work he felt was unsuitable.

Over the years he has produced some outstanding tracks, but has remained anonymous in the public eye, until now that is.

Having been signed up by Realtone records, he will now produce some of his best work & hopes that the public will like what they hear!
